Moselle: 3 lions blancs au zoo d'Amnéville

Il ne sont qu'une dizaine de spécimens vivre en captivité dans des zoos en France: trois lions blancs, une espèce d'Afrique du Sud pratiquement éteinte l'état sauvage, viennent d'arriver au zoo d'Amnéville (Moselle).

"Le lion blanc a une particularité génétique qui lui donne cette couleur caractéristique variant du crème au beige clair", a expliqué le directeur du zoo, Michel Louis.

Ce couple et leur bébé de 8 mois sont arrivés mercredi au zoo d'Amnéville (Moselle), en provenance du zoo de la Flèche, dans la Sarthe.

Bouba, un mâle de 5 ans pesant quelque 220 kilos, et Malindi (femelle, 4 ans) resteront en Moselle, tandis que leur lionceau, Madiba (8 mois), rejoindra un autre zoo dans un an environ, des fins de procréation.
